Transit service planning

Service planning
in one tool.

Replan Transit is web-based public transit service planning software: network, timetables, vehicle blocks, fleet and operating cost in one tool.

Service planning decides which lines run, when and how often. Usually the route, the timetable and the cost live in three tools. In Replan Transit, vehicles, cost and accessibility follow every variant, and Replan SIM shows the demand on the same digital twin.

Features

What Replan Transit does.

Network and lines

Stops, lines and line variants on a web map, with routing on the street, rail and tram network.

Timetable

Headways, service days, running and dwell times, single departures or interval windows, matrix and stringline views, transfers.

Vehicle blocks and shifts

Vehicle blocks from the timetable with layover and deadhead, shifts with paid hours, driver and fleet requirement.

Operating cost

Three cost drivers: hours, kilometres and fleet depreciation. Cost per line, day and year, exported to Excel.

Accessibility

Residents, jobs and destinations within reach, travel-time bands, before and after maps.

Demand

The variant goes to Replan SIM: boardings, loads, transfers and modal shift per scenario. Replan SIM

Use

What planners use Replan Transit for.

01

Network change

A new line, a changed route or a new stop, with vehicles, cost and accessibility.

02

Construction detour

Draw the detour, adjust the timetable, see the extra cost and the stops affected.

03

Timetable variants

Change headway, service hours or Saturday service and compare against the baseline.

04

Local transport plan and tenders

A target network with standards and cost, and the cost side of a bid for net-cost contracts. Use cases

Questions and answers

Frequently asked questions.

What is public transit service planning?

Service planning sets lines, stops, headways and service hours and checks which vehicles, drivers and cost they need and whom the service reaches. It is the basis for timetable changes, local transport plans and tenders.

Do I need to install anything?

No. Replan Transit runs in the browser. Results are shared as a link or exported as maps, tables, GIS layers and Excel.

Can I bring my timetable data?

Yes. GTFS is imported and exported in a technically usable form. Data from your current planning system is migrated with a documented mapping, sum checks and comparison cases.

How long does onboarding take?

A first digital twin of your region runs in a day. Timetables, counts and cost parameters follow over the next weeks. Four training sessions are included in the first year.

How do service planning and a traffic model fit together?

Replan Transit plans the service and calculates operations and cost. Replan SIM, an agent-based transport simulation on the same digital twin, calculates the demand. Replan next to classic traffic models →
