Replan Transit

Plan the service.
See vehicles, cost
and demand.

A standalone, web-based planning product for network, stops, lines, timetables and variants — with operating KPIs, a parametric cost model and accessibility analysis on one digital twin of your region. Used by planners at HAVAG, LVB, MDV, THÜSAC, NASA GmbH and MUKMAV Saarland.

The problem

Lines, timetables and cost live in three different tools.

The line

Drawn in GIS or on paper

Route and stops, but no timetable, no vehicles, no catchment figures.

The timetable

Excel or the scheduling system

Trips and headways, but no map and no view of who is reached.

The cost

A third spreadsheet

Vehicles and hours recalculated by hand for every variant. Versions drift apart.

Replan Transit: one workspace. Draw the line, set the service, and vehicles, cost and accessibility follow for every variant.

What you get

Every variant comes with its numbers.

Operating KPIs

Trips, runtime and vehicle requirement per variant.

Line length, number of trips, runtime, headway and operating hours, recalculated for every draft.

Trips, runtime, line length
Vehicle requirement per variant
Headway and operating hours per service window
Change versus baseline
Cost

Vehicle blocks, shifts and annual cost.

From the timetable to vehicle blocks, shifts and paid hours; cost per line, day and year with your own cost model.

Vehicle blocks, deadhead and layover
Shifts and paid hours
Cost per line, day and year, Excel export
Accessibility

Residents, jobs and POIs within reach.

Catchments by walking distance and travel-time bands, service availability, directness and overlap across the network.

Catchments by walking distance
Reach by 15, 30, 45 min
Service availability, directness, overlap
Demand · with Replan SIM

Boardings, loads and transfers per scenario.

Hand the variant to Replan SIM: every person in the digital twin decides again, and the result comes back by stop, segment and group.

Boardings and alightings by stop
Passenger load by segment
Transfers and modal shift

Workflow

From route idea to decision in one working session.

01

Open the digital twin of your region

Network, timetables, stops, demand and population are prepared. You start from a working baseline.

02

Draw or modify a line

Drag the line onto the street, rail or tram network. Add, move or remove stops. Copy or invert lines.

03

Change the service offer

Change headway, operating hours, vehicle type, single departures or interval windows.

04

Run the scenario

Vehicles, cost and accessibility are recalculated for the whole variant. Demand follows in Replan SIM.

05

Compare and export

Compare variants with the baseline. Export maps, tables, GIS layers and reports, or share a link.

Function catalogue

What Replan Transit does.

Three points per area. The full catalogue with more than 100 function points is available on request.

Network, stops, lines

  • Network, stops, lines and routes on a web map with switchable base and technical layers
  • Create, edit, move and retire stops with technical attributes and quality checks
  • Lines with direction, route and several variants; fast routing against the existing network while drawing

Timetable and offer

  • Import, edit and export timetables: operating days, calendars, trips and trip sequences
  • Service windows as single departures or interval windows; group departures into an interval with one click
  • Matrix and stringline views; shift departures by dragging, edit intervals in the diagram

KPIs, cost and accessibility

  • Operating performance, runtime, line length, number of trips and vehicle requirement per variant
  • Parametric cost model: vehicle types, cost models (purchase, service life, maintenance, tyres, cleaning, energy), agency cost model, energy price scenarios
  • Three cost drivers (hours, kilometres, fleet depreciation), line groups and reserve factors; Excel dashboard per line, service and vehicle type

Visualisation

  • Before/after maps with a light or dark base, line styles and legends as lines
  • Annotations: polygons, labels, arrows and symbols, for example a construction site with detour
  • Per-stop symbols, label position, colour and background

Data and interfaces

  • GTFS import and a technically usable GTFS export
  • Agreed GIS data as map or technical layers; clone presets with all lines, one operator or single lines
  • Migration from your current planning system: documented mapping, sum checks, samples, technical comparison cases

Collaboration and governance

  • Several planners work at once in a shared tenant; companies see only their own projects
  • Comments on a stop, a line or any map point, with threads and resolve
  • Editing lock while a line is being changed; roles for administration, editing and read/release
Vehicle blocks, shifts, cost

From the timetable to vehicles, drivers and cost.

Select a line and a day. Replan Transit builds the vehicle blocks from the departures, counts vehicles, deadhead and layover, derives shifts and paid hours and calculates the annual cost per line, service type and vehicle type. The result opens in Excel.

1

Timetable

Departures, matrix, stringline and map with a time slider. Service windows as single departures or intervals, per service type and day.

2

Vehicle blocks

Trips are chained into blocks with turnaround and deadhead rules; the Gantt shows every vehicle's day. KPIs: vehicles, trips in service, deadhead, layover, service span. Line groups let one vehicle serve several lines.

3

Shifts and drivers

Shifts per block with layover, deadhead and shift-change inputs; paid hours with weekend and holiday supplements; driver requirement from productive hours and a reserve factor; vehicle reserve on top of the fleet.

4

Cost and Excel

Three cost drivers: hours, kilometres and fleet depreciation. Vehicle cost models (purchase price, service life, maintenance, energy), an agency cost model (driver and mechanic cost, reserves, depot, overhead) and energy price scenarios. Output: an Excel workbook with dashboard, lines, services and vehicle types.

In daily use

Used by planners in Halle, Leipzig, Mitteldeutschland, Sachsen-Anhalt and Saarland.

Transport operators, associations and authorities use Replan Transit for network changes, construction-site detours, timetable variants and cost estimates — in shared tenants with dozens of users, trained in four sessions.
